Rather out of DA...

Hello people,

I've been considering a journal update since the New Year... which says a lot of my recent activity. Sorry. I find myself rather out of DA for quite a while now, and have mostly given up art. I feel guilty for that, if you really mind.

I haven't painted since autumn, and those two pieces I started then are still stacked on a shelf unfinished. I take photos with my good old A610, but I'm totally not in the mood to process them or even look through them and delete the absolute crap. Forgive me, my artistic self. I drop in on DA occasionally, and even look through my DevWatch which usually approaches 7000-8000 deviations by then (mostly from clubs).

I've got a new job in the end of autumn. I find my work quite relaxed now, although at times I get fears of professional degradation. Well, maybe I'm mistaken. Anyway, my working days are so unintense that I've taken up a routine of doing a daily sketch after business lunch. Usually it takes 10-15 minutes, and nobody cares. I've already done a "made-up creatures" series and some "made-up plants", almost all of them turned out to be trees. I thought I'd go into "portraits" now, the theme that has always been a challenge to me. Maybe someday I'll upload these sketches, if you're interested. Also, I think of going to some arts school/club. I even found one near my work. Now I need to call them and learn the details, but I'm lazy.

I wanted to write something else, but forgot what it was. OK.

If I buy myself a new phone, I'll most probably get to Instagram. What do you think about some Sony Xperia? Oh, I know, nobody will comment...

Cheers, anyway!

Well Kate for the record I do not consider myself "nobody". ;p As you know I left dA for some time and then came back. The reason I left was I had stopped painting full time to go back to work. I couldn't even make myself paint in my spare time and dA just kept reminding how I was failing to be artistic at all. I sat for hours trying to get myself to paint for a long time (at least a year or so). One day I pulled out my half finished From the Shore - Booster Lake and got back to it, and back to dA. It might take some time for you to do the same, but I can tell you that when the timing is right, you will be back at it and hopefully posting here. Don't know about the Sony phones but I just bought a RX-100 Sony camera and I love that. Nokia makes some awesome new phones as well, I think the Nokia Lumia 920 is supposed to be great (I have an iPhone 4S myself).

Anyway I hope you get back to art and feeling good about it soon. Warren
